+It is my pleasure to give you a status report of the Dash Core Team activities. Below, you will find our report covering activities performed in March and April, grouped by the four strategic areas of focus for 2017.
+
+Software Development
+Dash core wallet - version 12.x (lead developer: Andy Freer)
+New releases: v.12.1.3; v.12.1.4; v.12.1.5
+Internal restructure partly due to growth and partly due to some opportunities w/personnel. We’ve also nearly doubled the size of the team with new recruits.
+Dash Evolution (lead developer: Jon Kindel)
+Whitepaper in the process of finalization. Version 0.1 of the Evolution paper released to the technical leaders for first review.
+Developing a cohesive DevOps strategy with an automated Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipeline. This will ensure that we move away from cowboy-style ops and deployment, and reduce bus factor (the organization is not dependent on any single person).
+Single Github org for Evolution development created and we are consolidating all repositories into that place.
+Established an agile workflow with daily stand-ups for the entire Evolution dev team. This lays the groundwork for enabling the Evolution team to more easily collaborate among sub-teams, as well as move forward quickly with development and releases and in an agile manner.

+A project aiming to introduce Bitcoin and Dash payments across the Ukrainian retail sector has gained over $20,000 funding.
+
+The as yet unnamed initiative, which began as a proposal on the Dash Central platform, now has 255 Dash ($21,500) at its disposal and has partnered with backend clients to make consumer payments possible.
+
+In a progress update, developers pointed to a need for an alternative merchant scheme in Ukraine as extant operators such as Bitpay are not best suited to merchants’ financial situations.
+
+“The problem with that is a limited number of fiat currencies that are supported there,” developers write. “Yes, they have dollars and euros but there are so much more different (sic) local fiat currencies in this world.”
+
+The food and hospitality sector is first in line to trial the eventual implementation, with two restaurant chains due to pilot.
+
+Transactions will be instant, even those which do not use Dash’s Instant-Send feature, thanks to an API from local Ukrainian exchange Forksale, currently under development.
+
+Acceptance will come through the second partnership with Profit Solutions, a merchant payments facilitator for Ukraine which covers around 80 percent of active terminals according to the update.
+
+“That means that the restaurant industry is only a tip of the iceberg of how big this integration can be and the benefits for Dash network in particular since there will be a lot of Dash-exclusive features,” it continues.
+
+Progress is brisk, with the initial ready-to-use product due for release in three months time.

+The cryptocurrency ecosystem has been on fire this year. Most of the 700+ blockchain assets traded around the world are up significantly this year. In total, the combined value of the entire market is now at a record $62 billion. Leading the pack is still Bitcoin with a price of over $1840 and a market cap of $30 billion.
